Aromatherapy!

How I love these sales. Aromatherapy sales are always the ones I tend to miss. They are usually a DOD, featured as most of the time an online only (at least most of what I have seen this year confirms this) on a Sunday, so if even if it is available I'm never available to go get any and forget the shipping! Oh but this sale lasts until June 2nd.  Need some Aromatherapy? Now's your chance.

This haul was 3 separate transactions. There are some new coupons floating about. One I printed two of, which was spend $10 get a signature collection item (up to $16.50! Probably to cater to the new beach glow body lotions) so I was excited to get my hands on another body butter disc and I figured I'd give the superfruit scrub another try. Malibu Heat smells too delicious not to! The other coupon was a spend $20, get a free 3 wick candle! Are you nuts? Of course I'll do that! I haven't splurged too badly lately and quite honestly, I needed some minor retail therapy and this did the trick!

I'm not a fan of spearmint but the Stress Relief didn't put me off too badly. I'm still butthurt over Vanilla Verbena but I'll just bide my time until the SAS to hoard it like crazy.

Small. Simple. To the point.

Email, email!

Stressful day, A/C at work is busted, cue showering with Twisted Peppermint and feeling absolutely refreshed after getting out of the shower. Check my email and what lovely things I find! There are some new coupons going around right now via email. And I've brought them to one place for your shopping pleasure!

$10 off $30. Save your surveys! Free shipping with $50 purchase. Make sure it exceeds the $50 mark AFTER discounts.

Free 3 Wick Candle with $20 purchase. No candle sale, no problem.

Free Signature Collection Item (up to $16.50) with a $10 purchase! Save your bouncebacks and be wise! Don't get a lotion or shower gel with this baby! I got a body butter myself.

These are all valid in store and online until June 2nd. Hint, hint, that's also when the Aromatherapy body wash sale ends. Here's your excuse for stocking up now!

Info, info, info.

And so today ends Buy 3, Get 3 Free and 2/$22 3 Wick candles. If you didn't get your fix, it's your last chance. Aromatherapy Body Lotions are still $6 online only, but today is it.

For the 50%, I think they'll probably keep the bins out and keep it at 50% until it's all gone. Apparently the Mango Butter Soaps were supposed to stay because of the line of TBS soaps coming out this summer. I read it somewhere but don't remember where at the moment, nor do I have the info on hand. Soon enough.

Tomorrow is $6 Aromatherapy Body Wash per my lovelies! (A smart shopper would do the $6 lotions online and go buy the matching washes tomorrow.) Stopped in today to make a B3G3 but instead settled for a straight $30 with $10 off Malibu TBS stuff as I plan to get Aromatherapy washes. Lately those have been online only so I have been missing my fix of those as I don't order stuff unless I can't get it in store. And I'm sure you can imagine I'm not down my last drops of anything yet so I'm doing fine and frequenting less. More of a, use this first before you buy more!!!

Short and sweet. That's a wrap. Anticipating SAS!

Friday

Making a day of it! Friday I worked an early shift and went to lunch...
Rather ordered it.

My sushi chef was heavy-handed on the salmon. No complaints!

After, went to see Star Trek Into Darkness for the second time. I am foaming at the mouth waiting for it to come on DVD. I may just have to go see it again. Of course, I am a fan of the original Trek and don't choose to participate in the wankfest that some fans are making of the new Trek. I admit that I wasn't overly excited for the original reboot in 2009 but I think that they did a good job with the sequel. Plus I have a bit of a soft spot for Khan (no worries, not a Benedict Cumberbatch fangirl. Yet. This is the first thing I've seen him in.) so, you know.

Bath and Body Works followed this excursion. I went to a not usual store, felt slightly uncomfortable by one of the associates wandering around staring at anyone/everyone, not really talking or asking if she can help anyone. I guess it's in a not so great area and it's always super busy, plus according to the ladies at my usual store, it used to be a test store! I only go there when I am in the area really.

This is the small haul. I found the White Barn Summer candle there ... my local store doesn't have it yet. I don't know why. I would compare it to what others have said, a weaker Eucalyptus Mint. It smells nice and clean, I think I'll love to burn this one on a hot summer day ... which may as well be every day in sunny FL.

My second transaction consisted of the 2 for 1 lip since I barely have a selection of stuff outside of a couple C.O. Bigelow Mentha and Twisted Peppermint. I like peppermint, okay? Don't judge me. I was a little hesitant to get these wands though, all of the testers at the other sometimes frequent store were broken. The wands featured here are Cool Coconut and Bronze Berry. I have only tried Cool Coconut and it looks very flattering on me. My freebie was Hydra Glass which I haven't done much else but smell yet. Lastly, another Limoncello soap because I can't get enough of this. This is one of the few soaps I can use repeatedly ad nauseam and not dry my hands out severely. In love with it to say the least. We found it with a sign that said $10 Limoncello soaps which was apparently a special that ran there last weekend? I don't recall seeing it at my store and I go pretty much twice a week, usually more.

The cashier said that she didn't know the sign was still up and honoured the $10 price. Very nice of her. Eventful day.

Aromatherapy CLASSICS + $6 Lotion

Aromatherapy Classics are online at the moment. According to Cia two scents are coming back for $6 a pop at the SAS and they are what you'll find currently.

Sandalwood Rose: Body Lotion
Bergamot Coriander: Body Lotion

The body washes don't appear to be online yet. All Aromatherapy Lotions are on sale for $6 presently - online only, not sure until when, I don't see anything for it in my email.

I am not familiar with either fragrance so I am curious about them, not curious enough to order without smelling but I'll definitely look at them when the SAS starts.

Also for fans of it, Tangelo Woods Body Cream is still available for $7.50, in addition to Warm Milk and Honey Lotion

Check out the 50% section online for more goodies.

50% mini haul

Small True Blue Spa haul today.
The stores are clearing out their stock of them so get them while you can! 50% in store and online + other items (Triple Silk Lotions, Select a Shimmer, Fragrance Oil kits, Scentportables and Sweetheart collection). They didn't have anymore of the Mango Butter soap at my store which made me a little sad but I'll probably order some.

I am already familiar with the Raspberry items and may gift some of this to someone since I have a fair amount. The cream gel though, I felt almost compelled to hoard because it's just great. The soaps are not part of the clearance. I am not sure why!

The Mango Butter items interested me slightly, but only slightly. Whenever I did the B2G1 on TBS, I always went for Raspberry, or the Malibu stuff. I'll say it once, the beach sand foot scrub is basically the best thing to ever touch my feet. But ahem, back to the Mango Butter. My store had testers of most things available so I decided to sniff these. I don't like mango much at all, but I find these have an interesting scent - I wish I could say I could describe it accurately but I can't since I really am only familiar with artificial mango which to me is vile and has me placed about ten feet from anything remotely mango. But what the heck? Why not? If I really hate it, I know someone who would LOVE it.

I don't care for the other stuff they are discounting this weekend, so my weekend buys (since I know I'll go!) are going to be candles. I've fallen in love with Meet Me In Tahiti.

Quick visit

Today was a quick stop by the store for me. I was excited to finally buy some of the Destinations candles. I proceeded to snap up three different ones (that I already have but wanted more of), London Calling, Meet Me In Tahiti, and Rio Glow.

Sadly I didn't have too much time to look around at the offerings. The 50% off select items have small bins in the stores too! They have a mini SAS going on with the Sweetheart collection and select True Blue Spa (Mango Butter, Raspberry). They also have the Triple Silk Lotions and metal scentportables. I didn't get to glance at much else. I do know their spring candles are also on clearance. I didn't catch the price, I don't like the spring stuff so I didn't even bother to look. If that's your thing, you may wanna go check out your store today!

Love TBS Raspberry? Get it NOW before it's gone!

Also the Pure Paradise and Malibu Heat Beach Glow Lotions are available in stores, they do not appear to be online at this time.

Happy Memorial Day shopping!

4 oz. candles, an early study

Recently I posted about buying a few of the 4 oz. size candles which have been on sale for $5. I've heard they burn badly and I got to experience it first hand in the last few days. My first victims ahem, candidates, were Strawberry Picnic and Watermelon Lemonade. I chose Strawberry Picnic because I wanted to see how it smells when burned, and Watermelon Lemonade to compliment the wallflower in my bedroom.

The results have been interesting. As of roughly 10 hours put into WL and 6 into SP here were my findings.

Side by side.

SP has a thicker wick which is shorter and perhaps this is the biggest downfall to burning this one. Once the wax pool forms (or tries to) the wick very nearly drowned. The candle showed signs of tunneling. When the wax pool wouldn't extend any further, I snuffed it out and used a papertowel to sop up some of the wax to give me a longer wick almost. The results have been promising. I was able to achieve a full wax pool with no tunneling after this. The jar is kind of messy because I almost knocked it off the counter after putting it out. Oops.

WL has a thinner, taller wick and formed a near complete wax pool but also tried to tunnel. Once again, I used the paper towel technique and avoided utter catastrophe. What maintenance these little guys are. They take so long to form a wax pool too. WL took roughly 4 hours burn time today to finally reach the edges. No wonder they burn forever it seems! On the bright side, the throw for WL isn't bad for such a little guy and the SP was also nice, though not as strong which is perhaps good considering the smell could be sickening if too strong given how sweet it is.

I'll see if these guys will burn completely down and reuse the jars as I finish them. I'll perhaps light another one up before these finish to compare further. So far I am concluding that I won't be purchasing anymore of these guys.

No tunneling! Heavy maintenance required....

$5 Candles

I only actually owned 2 small candles before this: Market Peach due to the leftover gift event online. I don't like Peach at all actually, but I figured I could gift them if nothing else plus it got me $1 shipping if memory serves me right. I don't recall if there's been a $5 small candle sale since I started shopping B&BW until now honestly.

Anyway, I thought these would be a cute little option for the kitchen when I cook, or in the bath when I soak my feet as I tried a 3-wick candle in there and almost got choked out. Haha! I've heard these burn poorly (not from anyone at the store though.) but I figured why not give it a try. The variety was not so great though! I ended up cleaning out a few of the scents out of the store in this size with this relatively small buy. If burning fails, I have a wax warmer I can probably throw these on. I did a total of 3 transactions, one survey, two of the spend $10 get a free sig item. I find that accumulating these lotions and shower gels are great for adding on to gifts for people so I'm pretty much already set for Christmas as far as the women in my life are concerned.

2/$22 Memorial Day weekend

There is a candle sale slated for Memorial Day weekend per one of my lovelies at my local store. It isn't 100% confirmed but we are looking at a 5/24-5/27-ish window of candle goodness! I'm sure we'll be hearing something more once the $5 small candle sale ends. We'll see.

Buy 2, Get 1 Adventures!

Figuring out how to get a good deal that I can't get any other day was hard! Not gonna lie! Originally I thought about getting a candle, then another $10 or more item and something free but I went back again to that bloody hair mist. I can't get over it! The SA and I talked a little bit about the sale, and how most folks purchase stuff like normal (they'll buy 2, get 1 of sig or something). To be fair this was a little hard to navigate to get it to $30.

This was two separate transactions. The first consisted of the hair mist and Limoncello hand soap (w/Malibu Heat gift set free) which I thought might work out okay for the survey but apparently not. The mentha lip balms also apparently ring up normal price despite being the $2 clearance too. That was unexpected even though I knew that the sales weren't valid today. The SA of course gave me the balm for $2 though! I love my store.

The second transaction was 2 Destinations wallflowers w/1 free and a free item (Up to $12) with a $10 purchase, which the SA commented that she hadn't thought of that, it was clever. I decided the exfoliating glove that the MH set came with wasn't my thing so I tried stuffing all my wallflowers into it. To no avail. Well it was worth a shot. I got a survey for using one and I've accumulated a rather disgusting amount of these SAS flyers for $10 off $40. Absolutely no use for them if you have plenty of surveys.

Bonus: My store did have the 4 ounce London Calling and Rio Glow candles priced at $12.50 in a special box that will not be part of $5 sale when the specials kick back in tomorrow. Most of the boxes were ripped where people had been opening them all day. I almost bought one but decided against it. These candles don't have lids either. They're cute, but I can't justify the price.

London Calling!

This was actually the first haul of the new stuff and my first try of Malibu Heat. This one however, I was dying to get my hands on London Calling. As a fiend of all things British I knew from seeing the candle when I was in store one of the first times shopping for Christmas that I'd love it. Not $20 love it though! I new next to nothing about B&BW then. By the time I figured it out, it was too late, the candle was gone. However I was able to secure two nicely executed phone orders from Johnson City, TN. Those gals are great by the way. If you want test candles, I hear Easton doesn't accept any coupons at all. Johnson City DOES. The only thing they don't take is survey coupons. Also because I placed my two orders close together, they remembered me from the first order and gave me free shipping when I originally only wanted 2 candles but they talked me into taking the last one to make it 3! How could I say no?

I was afraid to burn any of them though! What if it never came back? Gasp! Well luckily it did. I swapped some candles I had picked up and wondered why I got them or were gifted them for these babies and stocked up on the wallflowers. I fell in love with the scent via wallflower from the first time around when I ordered several different ones looking to try them out. I knew it was gonna be fun when I opened the thing, oil got on my hands and it smelled really good. Of course I went to wash them off quite quickly though! The wallflower also fell out of the wall which is a story for another day but no worries - nothing was damaged. How, I don't know. I burned the candle for the first time a few nights ago. Just like the wallflower. Tea and lemon about sums it up.

Next 2/$22  I am going to clean my store out of them, I wish I was kidding. It's crazy how much I love this scent. It was hinted to me that one might come for Memorial Day. I am thinking May 22nd-26th/27th. It may begin on or near the weekend but we'll see.

Bonus: The watermelon lemonade wallflower is in my spacey second bedroom an it's strong! Thumbs up.

May 13th couldn't have come sooner!

So here is my first post thing. This haul is from a few days ago. I had ordered Wild Citrus Sunflower marking the second time I've ordered a scent that was an online exclusive and HATED it! I learned my lesson from the experience, though I can find things about fragrances I like pretty easily, I don't do well if I can't go product/candle sniffing. LOL! Wild Citrus Sunflower was traded for some of the Malibu Heat pictured above.

I had a Pineapple Orchid candle that had a wick break off mid-burn and the wax turned nasty and smoky and ugh. The SA was grossed out when she saw the candle but not necessarily surprised. So I swapped it for Meet Me In Tahiti. I figured by the description on this candle I'd like it but I wanted to smell it cold first. It kind of reminds me of the beach with a touch of vanilla. It's a good one so far! I can't say much else for it other than I haven't had any wicks breaking on me and it burns even so...

As for the body care, being as I am relatively new to B&BW (think December 2012), I have NEVER tried Malibu Heat at all before this. The fragrance notes sounded like something I'd absolutely love so I was counting down the days til it came to stores and bought it and loved it. Not without trying it first though! None of my stores would sell any of the May 13th floorset stuff early which marks a first for me since I've been able to pick up or at least smell stuff a few days before they hit the floor so I was itching to smell all these new things come last Monday!

It's got all these fruits and tropical scents going for it but a hint of a powdery something, I don't know. Whatever it is, it reminds me of a body spray (probably Avon something) from the nineties that I might've sprayed around in my sister's room. It's familiar. I love it. A lot. The hair mist was something I decided I'd try out - being that I have average thickness in hair but unmanageability (that's not a word but now it is!) that is out of this world with a big splash of frizz, hair products that aren't (and sometimes are!) shampoo and conditioner don't agree with me. However I have had very nice results out of this mist. It is similar to a light hold hair spray that fluffs up my hair a little and gives the otherwise dull appearance of my hair some semblance of style. I picked one up in Pure Paradise too since I liked it so much.

Pure Paradise, now this one is interesting. I find it a very light scent that fades down to my skin smelling like a boat trip I took where we went to all these beaches and looked for sandollars, seashells and the like, made a day of it, got sunburned to the high heavens and had a lot of fun. Not an every day scent for me but it's a nice little once in a while since it isn't a very "loud" scent. I don't really know how to describe it other than it kind of smells like sea water. Not dirty seawater, but just water. Well that sounds weird, what does water smell like, right? I live in Florida so I guess it makes sense to me. Anyway, that's my take on my long anticipated body care haul.

Intro

Right, here goes then. I'm Serena. Obviously not my real name, obviously a nickname, same as Mouse, Ms. Mouse or Mousie. I'm a wannabe photographer, music whore, candle hoarder and a relatively new fan of Bath and Body Works. I plan to share my hauls and reviews of products here. We'll see if I can stick to it!
