A busy time for a busy gal.

Hi and hello to all the folks who watch my blog. Even despite a near two month absence, I am still accumulating pageviews and have gone over the 10,000 mark. I would like to thank those of you who still check back perhaps hoping I've written something else and apologise to those who may be waiting, thinking perhaps I've abandoned my blog!

On a personal note, I semi-disappeared for a bit, off the internet altogether. I've got access, just lack the time to get on here and post anything, and buying B&BW! I've slowed down considerably, though I did go a few times before Christmas for some of the ladies I was buying for. I did go to the SAS today, more on that later.

PIC and I have reached a point in our lives where we are trying to figure out what we're doing, so we've been doing a lot of job-hunting, flat-hunting, and a lot of plain old working near opposite shifts! Since I don't drive, if he's not home, I don't go anywhere.

I've decided rather than discontinuing blogging, or disappearing without a trace that I'll just put out here that I won't be updating often, but I'll still post. Nice compromise for now I hope!

At any rate, on to my SAS update, which I'll post as a different entry!

Chronicles of today.

Talk about sleeping IN! Neither of us got up until 11 am today. First thing when we waking is we went to go say hello to our sick fur child Aurora. We gave her medicine and a treat (I'll spare you guys the CUTE photos since I know not many folks are fans of ratties!) and went out to Cracker Barrel because why not? We were supposed to have gone out of town but because we hit a block of wood on the interstate last week, we can't take the car on long hauls anymore.

Breakfast was had, and perusing their gift shop, I picked up some of PIC's favourite for his birthday:

We also went to a hole in the wall video game/movie rental store that we saw on the way to Cracker Barrel and stopped in at on the way back. Neither of us knew the place existed until today. We didn't find much interesting though. Instead, our old standby place which was one road down had this gem

For old time's sakes we got this. While I have both games on the game boy advance, nothing was quite like the good old PS version!

We then went to my little playground to see what was new. Not much sadly except for the VIP Tote. Not interested. I already have one set of Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin and that's enough to last me two years I'm thinking! It's so potent in the bottle plus I think I'd really only wear it in such a small window of time. Especially living in Florida. Heh.

So of course, the stores were running the 2/$22 sale. I checked in the hopes that they MIGHT have some Fall stuff, of course I knew better but hey, I can say I tried right? Heh heh! I had in mind to get a Tropical Spice, an Aloha Waikiki and a Watermelon Lemonade. No dice on the last two. Almost on the whole trio. They had a total of six Tropical Spice, all by the door. I went over by the display where the candles and wallflowers were and found only the wallflowers. I thought about not buying anything at that point, but upon the major headache crashing down on me, I convinced myself I needed another Eucalyptus Spearmint candle, then once I found Tropical Spice, one of that, and they were all cleaned out of Watermelon Lemonade and Aloha Waikiki. As much as I love London Calling and Summertime S'mores, they had so many of them - I just don't need more of those.

For Destinations, it appeared all they had were London Calling and Sea to Santorini. BUT, behind the 2/$22 display card, someone had stacked two candles behind it of Meet Me In Tahiti, and they appeared to be the only ones in the store. Better believe I made one of those my third candle! Sorry to whomever hid it...

I needed to get a Pure Paradise lotion for someone, so I made that my excuse to buy some soaps. I got Cool Chick some Coconut Lime Verbena soap a while back, but none for myself, and I tried it whilst at the birthday bash Saturday and thought, why the heck didn't I?! So that made my mind up! Also noted that Summer Chill is $5 in stores, and that INCLUDES the FFM which is only 50% off online. Cooling Sprays are still $10.

Lastly, went to Target for some odds and ends and as a big fan of Chobani yogurt, I had to try the Coco Loco flip! We'll see how it is. I was recently disappointed by my local Bullseye for ceasing to carry my all time favourite Chobani, the big tub of Chocolate Chunk. Maybe I'll get my yogurt from there again if I like this one enough.

Will likely be spending the rest of today vegging out to some old school anime stuffs and turkey burgers I'd guess!

Birthday Festivities

Hey guys, just back in from my birthday party with family. Good food, good times and good loot!

Over at the cool chick's (PIC's mother) house, we had a fondue party with some beef, chicken, cheese dip, mushroom gravy ... so good. We followed it up with a nifty little S'mores Cup thing that cool chick found on Facebook. She was in a cooking mood too, as she sent us home with mini corndogs also! Roll me out the door now!

I got some cute Minnie Mouse flip-flops and a fondue pot of my own. No pictures provided 'cause my phone died. Awesome!

PIC gave me his gifts to me before we left this afternoon. Here's what I got:
Remember that bag at the top of the closet? That plus an exchange for JCB I had in my stash results in the above.

I think I have enough Sugar Berry Smash to sink a ship but that's okay. Perfectly okay. It's amazing. I got more of the CLV candle though and a Blueberry shower smoothie which excites me greatly. Also looking forward to trying out White Mango Chill - despite the mango hate.

Nothing groundbreaking or new here. I'm just dying for Fall now. Onwards I say!

Successful birthday!

Vacay: Day Three

This is sitting at the top of my towel closet. PIC went to B&BW yesterday - I looked around too but had to sit out his purchase. No peeking!

I didn't find much else of note other than my store doesn't seem to be participating in the $10 select 3 Wicks either! Summer comebacks are still $12 - everything else is full price. Weirdness.

Select 3-Wick Candles 50% Off
Regularly up to $20 each. While supplies last. Exclusions and/or purchase limitations may apply. No substitutions. Selection may vary online and by store location. Offer valid at U.S. Bath & Body Works stores and BathandBodyWorks.com through 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 21, 2013 or when supplies run out. Offer not valid at Bath & Body Works stores in Canada.

They didn't have the Orange Pumpkin or Spice Kissed Pumpkin pocketbacs either.

Ah well. I suppose I could do with saving my money to throw at them for the holidays! I didn't find anything new on the website today either. I'm figuring we'll see more wallflowers and pocketbacs popping up over the next couple weeks. I had a weird dream last night that I went into my local B&BW and they had Marshmallow Fireside candles on a shelf with Summertime S'mores. Sheesh! Wax addiction is serious business.

PIC and I are going out of town for the afternoon to my favourite restaurant for dinner, an All You Can Eat Sushi place I discovered a few years ago, priced at a little over $20. A little expensive, but I get my money's worth out of it. We're planning on hitting the local mall there too as it's a bit far to go just for grub. I'm sure I'll have more to say later!

Spotlight on Coconut Lime Verbena

Perfect candle for a holiday right? I took a week of work just because, plus my birthday's Saturday so I just need some me time and I'll be going somewhere (undecided yet) midweek.

This was my little treat to me today, good way to kick off right?

So onto the candle ...

Lovely, light and fragrant citrus with a hint of coconut. A very clean and sheer smell. Relaxing. It's lovely! The throw isn't spectacular so in my opinion, it works well in a smaller area. It burns quite well though and made for quite a relaxing day if I say so myself. I picked this beauty up when I exchanged the Pure Paradise stuff since I had extra store credit and I gotta say that I am disappointed in myself for only getting one.

Dat wax pool.

Even the wax is really pretty. Both the pool and the colour. Normally I find summer scents to be a bit overdone and repetitive. I noticed a coconut explosion this year at B&BW (I don't know if that's a normal thing or not.) and while it can get tiresome, this candle seems to stand out to me. I don't know how long ago it came out though I'd guess a few years. Glad to see that it's still around and honestly, it's making me wish I would've gotten into B&BW when this scent was still in body care too! Great stuff!

Update

Looks like I've missed some stuff. I've been dealing with some personal issues but I will be back to blogging in a day or two. No worries, haven't abandoned my blogging. I'll be reading up in the meantime on the goodies I missed and maybe I'll have a product review up.

'Til then!
